The Indian Navy has released the notification for Direct Entry Petty Officer and Chief Petty Officer (Sports Entry) – 02/2026 Batch. Eligible sportspersons can apply through the offline application process for these posts.
Candidates who meet the required educational, age and sports eligibility criteria can send their application form to the prescribed address. The application process will start from 26 September 2026.

Educational & Sports Qualification
The eligibility is different for both posts:

Candidates must have been born between 01 September 2001 and 28 February 2009, both dates inclusive.

Selection Process
Candidates will be selected through the following stages:
- Shortlisting based on sports achievements
- Selection Trials at designated Naval Centres
- Medical Examination
- Police Verification
The medical examination will be conducted at INS Hamla, Mumbai or INS India, Delhi.

Candidates have to apply offline using the prescribed application form.
- Download and fill the application form carefully.
- Attach self-attested copies of all required documents.
- Clearly mention the entry type, sports discipline and sports achievement on the envelope.
- Write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF __________” on the envelope.
- Enclose two self-addressed envelopes of 22 × 10 cm. One envelope should have a ₹10 stamp affixed.
